Who we are

MoodRoulette ("we", "us") is a film recommendation tool operated at moviemingle.co.uk. You can reach us any time at hello@moviemingle.co.uk.

What we collect

• Preferences stored on your device. Your country, streaming services, mood and filter choices are saved in your browser's local storage so a refresh doesn't lose them.
• Watch Party data. When you create or join a room we store an anonymous guest account ID, the display name you type, the room code, the shared filters and your swipe votes. This lets other people in your room see the lobby and match results in real time.
• Technical data. Standard server and security logs (IP address, browser type) generated when you load the site.

We do not ask for your real name, postal address or payment details, and we never sell personal data.

Cookies and advertising (Google AdSense)

This site displays advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, a practice known as ad personalisation. Third-party vendors, including Google, use the DoubleClick/advertising cookie to serve ads based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Where required by law (for example in the UK and EEA), Google's consent management will ask for your permission before setting non-essential cookies, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Affiliate tracking (Amazon Associates and others)

MoodRoulette is a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme and other affiliate programmes, including affiliate link monetisation provided by Skimlinks. "Watch Now" and similar outbound buttons may contain affiliate tracking tags or redirect through an affiliate network.

When you click one of these links, the destination retailer or network may set a cookie that records that the click came from us, so that we can earn a small commission from a qualifying purchase or sign-up at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. These cookies are controlled by the retailer or network, not by us, and are subject to their own privacy policies.

• Google AdSense — advertising delivery and measurement
• Amazon Associates and Skimlinks — affiliate link tracking
• TMDB and streaming availability providers — film metadata and artwork
• Our hosting and database provider — anonymous sessions and room data

Retention and your rights

Watch Party rooms, participants and swipes are transient and are removed once a room is no longer in use. You can clear your saved preferences at any time by clearing your browser's local storage. If you are in the UK or EEA you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold, and to object to processing — email hello@moviemingle.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

MoodRoulette is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
